April 2025

Hello Friends:

Nevertheless, Spring arrived.

I've been walking the land, eagerly looking for our plant friends to reappear with the spring sunshine. Yellow dock, mugwort, dandelions, nettles, ground ivy, dead nettles, and bittercress are here. (Some of these nutritious powerful wild greens will grace our Women's Retreat menu!) The buds on the pawpaw trees and the redbud are swelling, and the spring ephemerals like bloodroot and mayapple are sure to follow. The bird activity increased in recent weeks and we even had a pair of mallards in the pond for a few days and once, roosting in the beech tree by the salt cave!
It's so heartening to witness the wheel of the year turning, regardless of what human beings think up.
We noticed a higher sensitivity during the events. Please feel free to tell us about your needs and the preferred spot in the room. Please know that all teachers use trauma-informed practices and are committed to your safety.

Don't miss two by-donation events this month! See below for details.

Please note:

- Early bird pricing ends this Thursday, April 3 for the Nurtured in Nature Women's Retreat: Spring Edition on May 3 with Sophia Heller and Kati Shea. Circle in the salt cave, gentle movement, sound healing, vocal opening practice, spring ritual, herbal tea meditation, nature connection through creative expression. Seasonal lunch  & delicious snacks included! Wild greens from our woods are on the menu!

- Reiki share event is on April 6, 11 am-1 pm by donation. Open to anyone who's interested, practitioners and those interested in receiving! Sign up by emailing Maria King

- Only 5 seats are available for the Salt + Serenity Sound Bath Experience with Ash Shea on Sunday, 4/6, 4 pm. Please note, the sound levels get intense at times. If you're prone to migraines or are a very highly sensitive individual, this event may not be for you. Try a class where there is a short gong bath and see how you do! Questions? Email Ash.

- Join us on Saturday April 12, any time between 2-6 pm for community salt cave hours by donation; all donations will go to NOFA-NJ. Older kiddos are welcome - we are aiming for a quiet peaceful event. :-) We will have family community hours later this spring and summer for you to bring your babies and toddlers! No need to RSVP. Spread the word so we get a good turnout and lots of donations!

The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey has supported and advocated for organic farming and local food systems in the Garden State since 1985. From technical support to educational programming and policy advocacy, their work is dynamic, community-focused, and has lasting impacts throughout the entire food system. They have been seriously affected by the recent federal cuts. Please consider donating here or plan to come to one of their events and the salt cave fundraiser!
